Eatery Damage, $16K Fraud: Western Springs Cops

A restaurant's outdoor tables were damaged with graffiti, police said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the reports:

  • Several outdoor tables and a cement barrier were defaced with graffiti Tuesday at Vie Restaurant, 4471 Lawn Ave.
  • A resident in the 5800 block of Wolf Road told police Thursday that $16,000 was fraudulently removed from her checking account. This was after she signed up for online banking following a phone conversation with someone who claimed to represent a virus protection company.
  • A five-inch hole in a window on the northwest corner of Village Hall, 740 Hillgrove Ave., was reported about 11 a.m. Thursday.
  • A driver told police Saturday that her car was hit by another car that did not stop while she was trying to make a turn onto Ogden Avenue from Wolf Road. Her vehicle did not sustain any damage.
  • A resident in the 5000 block of Lawn Avenue told police Saturday that someone tried to change the address attached to his bank account and attempted $3,000 in fraudulent charges.
