An Evening with Paula Scrofano and John Reeger at Theatre of Western Springs

A one-night only evening of conversation with Paula Scrofano and John Reeger, a well-known acting team and married couple from Riverside.

The Theatre of Western Springs presents “An Evening with Paula Scrofano and John Reeger” at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, at the Theatre of Western Springs (TWS), 4384 Hampton Ave as part of its Cattell Series. The evening will be moderated by TWS Artist-in-Residence Greg Kolack. The public is invited to the free event which will take place in TWS’ Cattell Theatre.

This is a one-night only evening of conversation with the well-known acting team and married couple. Paula Scrofano and John Reeger have appeared on Chicago-area stages since 1974 and have acted together in some 40 productions.

Residents of Riverside, the couple met in 1969 as Northwestern University freshmen in a Drama as Literature class. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

“We met freshman year, fell in love and got married while still in school,” Reeger said. “It was kind of crazy for two people going into theater. A lot of things began happening in Chicago in the mid 1970s — a lot of plays opening up. It seemed like a good place to have a career, and it was.”

The couple has worked continually in and around Chicago and has raised two children in a suburban environment.
