Final Election Results and Notes for Western Springs
The final results, plus highest and lowest neighborhood turnouts and some interesting notes on vote counts.

The Cook County Clerk's Office has released the final tallies for votes from the April 5 elections. Following are some interesting notes about the election, as well as final tallies for all Western Springs ballots. (Note that vote totals for Distrct 106, District 204, and Lyons Township include votes cast from outside Western Springs itself.)
- In his home precinct (Lyons Precinct 21, Field Park south of 39th Street), outsider District 101 school board candidate Eli Pars (129 votes) actually beat out two of the three eventual caucus-party winners, Todd McLawhorn (127) and Eleanor Wackerman (126). Pars garnered 23.2 percent of the Precinct 21 vote, but only 16.9 percent village-wide.
- The only Western Springs precinct to vote in favor of the turf-field referendum was not a Lyons Township precinct—it was Proviso Township Precinct 46, the tiny area of Old Town North north of the 39th Street parallel and one of only two small Western Springs areas in Proviso Township. Proviso Precinct 46 went for the referendum 10 "yes" votes to 9 "no."
- Total turnout of Western Springs registered voters was just 16.1 percent (1588 ballots out of 9834 registered voters.) This was just slightly under turnout throughout Cook County (16.7 percent, 233,350 ballots of 1,395,756 registered voters.)
- The highest percentage turnout in Western Springs was from Lyons Precinct 20 (Ridge Acres north of 46th Street) at 23.5 percent. The lowest, outside of Timber Trails (which is incalculable from given data), was Proviso Precinct 46 at only 9.3 percent, followed by Lyons Precinct 42 (Ridgewood), at 11.5 percent.
- Only two residents of Timber Trails (the only Western Springs division of Lyons Precinct 60) voted.
- The highest turnout in Cook County was nearly 46 percent in Wilmette. The lowest was under 7 percent in Hillside, Merrionette Park and Northbrook.
