Western Springs firefighters responded to a 911 call around 8 a.m. Tuesday from the residents of a home in the 600 block of Courtland Circle, who said their fire alarm was activated and there was smoke in the house.

Firefighters found flames on the second floor through the whole house fan and in the attic of the home. “An aggressive interior attack” kept it from spreading, according to the release.
