First Responders Challenge: A Fun Day for the Family and a Fun Competition
Still time for police, firefighters and EMTs to enter a team for the Sept. 13 event.

Calling all first responders β firefighters, police officers, paramedic/EMTs, auxiliary officers and others called to serve and protect β can you meet the challenge? The First Responders Challenge/Family Fun Day.
On Sept. 13, a day of FREE family-friendly activities will be highlighted by an obstacle-course competition between area first responders. The beneficiaries of this event are the 100 Club of DuPage County and the 100 Club of Chicago, which serves Cook County.
And thereβs still time to enter a team in the challenge.

The 100 Clubs offer assistance to families of law enforcement and firefighting personnel who have been killed, injured, or otherwise stricken while residing or working in the county.
The obstacle course challenge takes place between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., featuring a team relay, a tire flip, a hose run, a strength and endurance circuit, stretcher run and .... a tug oβ war.

Winning teams will receive trophies, prizes and bragging rights until next year!
Fun for the families from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. includes an inflatable bounce house, face painter, caricature artist, live music from Chicagoland rock band The Belvederes, wood-building set giveaways (for the first 300 children) from Home Depot of Downers Grove.
A business showcase will include more than a dozen area businesses showcasing their wares and services, while providing service demonstrations, special offers and giveaways.
All individuals who attend the event will receive a chance to win a TRIP FOR 4 TO CANCUN, provided by Travalati and one of two IPAD MINIs, courtesy of Platinum Sponsor, Country Financial.
This event was created to highlight the unwavering, serious commitment first responders make to protect the public at-large; in the privacy of their own homes, at work, and within their communities.
