Food Delivery Driver Robbed At Gunpoint In LaGrange

Robbers got away with driver's wallet, phone and keys, made purchase on driver's credit card soon after robbery, police said.

Two men robbed a food delivery driver on a residential street in LaGrange early Saturday evening, police said.

The robbery happened around 6:30 p.m. in the 300 block of South Kensington Avenue. After dropping off a food order, the 19-year-old Jimmy John’s delivery driver was approached by one of the robbers who demanded the driver’s possessions, police said.

When a struggle ensued over the driver’s wallet, the robber displayed a handgun. The second arrive arrived during the struggle. The pair fled eastbound on Maple Avenue after they had taken the driver’s wallet, phone and keys.

Police said the men left the area quickly because shortly after the robbery a purchase was made in another suburb using the victim’s credit card.

  • Male black, approximately 6-feet-tall, thin build, early 20s, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray knit hat and blue jeans.
  • Male black, approximately 6-feet-tall, medium build, mid-20s, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
