Gift Card Scam, Porch Piracy: Western Springs Cops
A resident is out $2,000 as a result of fraud associated with gift cards, police said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the latest reports:
- Two Amazon packages were stolen July 4 from a porch in the 5100 block of Grand Avenue. The packages were valued at $85.
- A car's passenger side rear bumper was damaged while it was parked July 5 in the 1000 block of Hillgrove Avenue.
- A resident in the 4700 block of Johnson Avenue told police July 5 that someone made a purchase of $2,000 using gift cards that the resident bought.
- A resident in the 4500 block of Johnson Avenue told police Thursday that his personal information was used to open accounts at various banks.
