A high point in the evening is the announcement of the seven plays of the 2016 – 2017 season. It is TWS’s 88th season of continuous operation. Not many community theatres can boast such longevity.
Absentee bidding will take place for those not attending the fundraiser. For details about the auction items, please email: info@theatrewesternsprings.com for a full list and descriptions of all of the packages. To bid on an item, please email: info@theatrewesternsprings.com and include name, phone number, the auction item and a maximum bid. Absentee bidding ends at 5 p.m. CST Wednesday, March 23rd.
The fundraiser also features a Wine Pull. Fifty bottles of wine have been donated from local businesses and active members of the theatre.
Each bottle is wrapped and numbered. For $20, a guest picks a numbered cork from a basket and gets the bottle that corresponds with the number. The guest then "reveals" his or her wine to see if it's a $15 bottle or $100 bottle. Some of the bottles will also have a bonus prize which will be a wine novelty item such as wine charms, a kit on how to host a wine party, wine tasting or gift certificate.
"Everyone who plays wins," said Jackie Raschke, committee member and chair of the Wine Pull. "And it's a win-win for the theatre since every bottle is donated."
The Reveal planning committee is chaired by Mary Kuhn of Naperville and Ashley Kennedy of LaGrange Park. Committee members are Peggy Carlson of La Grange, Jackie Raschke of Brookfield, Tina Shelley of Brookfield, Abby Madden of Brookfield; Kerri Mummert of La Grange, Kat Szabo-Creedon of
Brookfield; and Stephanie Stomberg of Western Springs.
Again, the community is invited. Tickets are $50. Call 708-246-3380 or go to: http://www.theatreofwesternsprings.com.
