Groups With Stolen Bikes In Western Springs: Cops

No formal complaint was filed in the case. Bikes were reported stolen at the pool.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Bicycles were stolen from the bike racks early Sunday afternoon at Western Springs Pool, 1300 Hillgrove Ave., police said in a news release Wednesday.

Shortly after noon, a group of youths stole three bikes from the racks, police said. Officers then were immediately able to find several small groups of people with stolen bikes, bring them together and detain them for an investigation, police said.

The bikes were immediately returned to the owners, and no formal complaint was filed, with detectives continuing to investigate, police said.

The Western Springs Service Club, which runs the pool, reminded its members Sunday to lock their bikes in the racks.
