High School Chums Steal Western Springs Man's Cash: Cops
Two men grabbed a resident's money and ran away, according to a police report.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — A Western Springs resident invited two friends from high school to his house last week, but they ended up stealing his money, police said.
The 19-year-old resident told police he knew the two men since they were freshmen. He didn't speak with them often and had only recently reconnected with them, according to a police report obtained through a public records request.
The incident happened shortly after noon Aug. 24 in the 5300 block of Johnson Avenue.

The 19-year-old men arrived in a black Nissan, parking a few houses south of the resident's house, according to the police report. They were inside the house for about a minute.
The resident told police he owed the men money. When he pulled out his cash, they grabbed it and ran away, the report said. He initially told police that they took $10, but then said they stole $50 to $80, police said.

According to the report, officers found the addresses for the suspects. The resident said he would press charges.
