Hinsdale Humane Society's Kitten Shower Returns for Second Year

Hinsdale Humane Society (HHS) brings back its Kitten Shower for the second year, April 18 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the shelter located at 22 N. Elm St. in Hinsdale.

Visitors can look forward to an afternoon of raffles, face painting, balloon animals, treats, behind the scenes shelter tours and cuddles with kittens, all to raise awareness about the feline overpopulation crisis.

Attendance is free, but guests are asked to help HHS care for its kittens by donating supplies such as:

• Purina Kitten Chow

• Canned cat food (pate, no fish)

• Kitten Milk Replacer (liquid and powder)

• Wellness canned kitten food

• Cat litter (non-clumping, clay)

• Royal Canin Baby Cat 34 dry kitten food

• Small animal nursing bottles

• Gift cards - PetSmart, Petco, Sam’s Club
• Liquid bleach

• Laundry detergent (HE: High Efficiency)

• Clorox or Lysol antibacterial wipes

• Paper towels

“This was such a great event when we introduced it for the first time last year, that we had to bring it back again this year,” said Jennifer Vlazny, HHS Operations Manager. “It’s a great way for us to collect much needed kitten care supplies, while also sharing information about the importance of spaying and neutering cats.”

Shelter hours are Monday – Closed, Tuesday – 2-8 p.m., Wednesday-Friday – Noon-6 p.m., Saturday-Sunday – 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
