Freeburg was a creative genius,beginning in the 60’s, who “swam outside the lanes” in advertising, radio, and television. He originated off-beat product commercials (“there are 8 big tomatoes in that little bitty can”) and even radio spots for the Presbyterian Church. Timeless humor is captured in his parodies of Elvis, rock and roll, country, and calypso music as well as in “take offs” on soap operas, TV detectives, and U.S. history. (Don’t miss his “politically correct” version of Old Man River!) His recent passing was the subject of many tributes—but none could be better than to enjoy his wit and satire along with your favorite flavors on Sunday, June 28th at 6:30 p.m. in the Jones Room of the Presbyterian Church of Western Springs (5250 Wolf Road, Western Springs, IL.)  And bring a friend as well!
