No arrests took place in town in the last week, except for suspended licenses, police said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs police released their weekly blotter Wednesday. Here is the information from the reports:

Identity theft

  • A resident in the 700 block of Hillgrove Avenue told police July 25 that someone attempted to cash a fraudulent check from the resident's account. No loss was reported.
  • A resident in the 1300 block of Oak Street told police July 26 that someone opened a T-Mobile account in the resident's name in April.
  • A resident in the 5300 block of Central Avenue told police July 26 that someone fraudulently purchased Apple Air Pods on her AT&T account. No loss was reported.

  • A 25-year-old man from Countryside was cited about 11:30 a.m. July 25 in the 3800 block of Woodland Avenue on charges of driving an uninsured car, driving a vehicle with a suspended registration and having no driver's license on his person. He was released on bond.
  • A 23-year-old man from Cicero was cited about 5 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of 55th Street on charges of driving an uninsured car, speeding and driving with a suspended license. He was released on bond.
