Join Us for Lenten Worship, Education and Fun

The Presbyterian Church of Western Springs is hosting many worship, educational and social activities during Lent.  Here’s a rundown of a few and we hope you will join us:

Ash Wednesday:

Ash Wednesday is Wednesday, March 5 and we will continue our tradition of joining with Highlands Presbyterian Church for a simple “Bowl and a Roll” meal followed by a worship service.  Join us at PCWS at 6:30pm for a simple meal of soup and a roll, followed by worship.  This is a very meaningful way to start the Lenten season.

Jonah @NIGHT:

The fantastic, satirical misadventures of the most successful defective prophet who ever lived will be explored every Friday night throughout Lent here at PCWS.  Led by Associate Pastor Matt Schmidt and using provocative storytelling, hands-on activities and small group discussions, this deconstructed Bible study will help people of all ages (kids, youth and adults) learn about the Bible.  We begin Friday, March 7 at 7:00pm at PCWS. 

Lenten Fair:

On Sunday, March 16, we’re hosting a Lenten Fair.  Our Sunday School children will be working on mission projects and they will be showcasing them at the Lenten Fair.  Be sure to stop by the Jones Room after worship on March 16 to discover what our students are learning and sharing!

There’s so much more going on at PCWS (Theology & Brew, Holy Yoga!, Ice Skating Outings, Mission and Service Events…too much to list!), but that’s just a look at some Lenten events.   Our Sunday Worship service takes place at 9:30am each week.  Infant and toddler childcare is offered in our nursery.  Sunday School is available for children in preschool and above.  You are invited to join us and we look forward to seeing you!
