La Grange Family Hopes to Recover an Heirloom, Solve a Crime
The community is asked to keep an eye out for a red and green Mayo County flag that was stolen from a front porch on South Ashland Avenue.

Two La Grange residents are asking for the community’s help to find a flag that was stolen Aug. 15 from their front porch in the 100 block of South Ashland Avenue.
The stolen County Mayo flag, along with an Irish flag, were flown in honor of Pat Deane, who died at the age of 90 from natural causes. He was originally from County Mayo, Ireland, and he was proud of his heritage.
Pat’s daughter, Kathi, and son-in-law, Herb Schepel, had taken care of Pat for the past several years, and they displayed the flags on their porch Saturday after the burial service.

The community is asked to keep an eye out for the red and green Mayo County flag, which was from Ireland and has great sentimental value for Kathi and Herb. They would like to have the flag back, no questions asked.
Anyone with information about the flag can send a message to Michael Horvath on Facebook.
