La Grange Park Community Park District Appoints Executive Director
Aleks Briedis will succeed Roy Cripe, who is retiring after a forty year career in the field of parks and recreation.

The Board of Commissioners of the Community Park District of La Grange Park (CPD) is very pleased to announce the hiring of its new Executive Director. Mr. Aleksandrs βAleksβ Briedis, CPRP, a native of Villa Park, comes to the CPD with a long history of success in the parks and recreation field.
After earning a Bachelor of Science in Leisure Studies degree from the University of Illiniois-Urbana-Champaign, Aleks moved to Colorado, where he became the Recreation Director for the City of Rifle. During his 14-year tenure there, Aleks built up its recreation program and oversaw all aspects of its operation, including master planning, programming, hiring staff, website development, funding and budgeting, grant applications, capital project management, community involvement and much more. Aleks comes to us after returning to Illinois and serving as the Director for Community Recreation with the Batavia Park District.

Mr. Briedis will be succeeding Mr. Roy Cripe, who is retiring after a forty year career in the field of parks and recreation, the last six years as Executive Director of the Community Park District. Roy overhauled every aspect of CPD operations and will be greatly missed by the board, staff, and the citizens of La Grange Park. The Board wishes Roy and his wife Ginny well in their future endeavors.
The Board also looks forward to working with Aleks as it moves ahead in serving the park and recreation needs of village residents and CPD patrons. Please join them in extending Aleks Briedis a warm La Grange Park welcome.
