LaGrange College Student Awarded Hospitality Scholarship
Madeline Pappas named recipient of prestigious scholarship from the Illinois Hotel and Lodging Association Educational Foundation.
The Illinois Hotel & Lodging Association Educational Foundation (IHLAEF) named Madeline Pappas of LaGrange a scholarship recipient for the 2014-2015 academic year.
Pappas was awarded the $5,000 Hostmark Hospitality Group, Robert J. Cataldo Scholarship. Pappas will be a senior at Michigan State University this fall, where she is in the School of Hospitality Business. She was awarded the annual scholarship based on her outstanding academic achievement, a strong portfolio and a commitment to pursuing a career in the hospitality industry.
Designed to ignite confidence in Illinois Hotel & Lodging Association (IHLA) member employees and hospitality management students, IHLAEF is helping support the next generation of hospitality leaders and equipping them with resources to help advance their education.

For the 2014-2015 academic year, IHLAEF awarded more than $32,000 in scholarships to students from 16 cities and towns across the state. The 17 students received $1000 to $5000 scholarships.
Incorporated in 1992, IHLAEF has been a primary source of scholarship assistance for deserving Illinois college students pursuing hospitality management degrees throughout the country, awarding over $350,000 since its inception.

The foundation focuses on three major initiatives: Educational Programming, High School to Career Curriculum and Workforce Development, and Scholarships.
