LaGrange Park Hosts National Night Out Event This Tuesday
"National Night Out Against Crime" kicks off at 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, at Memorial Park in LaGrange Park.

“National Night Out Against Crime” -- the nationwide anti-crime campaign -- returns to LaGrange Park on Tuesday, August 5, at Memorial Park, located at 132 Oak Ave.
Festivities will begin at 7 p.m. and include entertainment, food and refreshment. The LaGrange Park Police Department is currently looking for volunteers to assist with the event. National Night Out is a nationwide annual campaign that has been held since 1984 and is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch in the United States and Canada. The purpose of the event is to increase awareness about various police programs offered by communities, such as drug prevention, town watch, neighborhood watch and other anti-crime efforts.

Residents are asked to show their support for crime prevention by turning on their porch lights from 7 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday.
