LaGrange Park Store Owners Chase Down Robber: Cops

Maywood man being held on $60,000 bail for Saturday's dry cleaners robbery, police said.

A Maywood man is being held on $60,000 bail after LaGrange Park police said he robbed a local business on Saturday afternoon.

Patrick Lee Keenan, 36, of the 100 block of Oak Street in Maywood, was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, three counts of resisting police, and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

According to police, Keenan walked into the Superior Cleaners, at 1123 S. LaGrange Road, in LaGrange Park, around 2 p.m., demanding that the cash register be emptied.

After allegedly taking $180 from the register and a purse from a female customer, Keenan fled the store on foot.

He was chased down by the store owners and detained until police arrived, according to the report.

Police said the money and purse are being held as evidence and will eventually be returned to the victims.

Keenan is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, one count of possession of a controlled substance, and three counts of resisting a peace officer.

Bail was set at $60,000 for Keenan during a court hearing at the Maywood Courthouse on Tuesday.

Out of concern for his well being, Keenan is being hospitalized in Cook County Jail’s Cermak Hospital, LaGrange Park Interim Police Chief Phil Kubisztal said.

Keenan is currently being held in Cook County Jail. His next court appearance is Oct. 2.
