Lyons Township High School’s student newspaper, Lion, won a Golden Eagle trophy at the Northern Illinois School Press Association (NISPA) convention on April 24 at the College of DuPage, signifying it as one of the top high school newspapers among NISPA members. Lion staffers also accumulated several individual awards, and for the first time in Lion history, the newspaper’s website won a Golden Certificate for it online newspaper excellence.
In individual write-off competition at the convention, LT students placed in 11 individual contests, with five Blue Ribbons and six Honorable Mentions.
