Local Church Collecting Shoes for the Poor
All Saints Church partners with Soles4Souls to provide shoes and opportunity to the developing world.

All Saints Church in Western Springs is collecting new and gently used shoes in partnership with Soles4Souls. Any flat shoe (no high heels) is welcome - even single shoes! The shoes are sold at low cost to small businesses in the developing world to promote microbusinesses and help people achieve financial independence. The profits are put into purchasing and distributing new shoes to those who cannot afford them. Shoes will be collected by the church through June 30th, with a sorting event on July 1st.
The project is being headed by one of All Saints' Sunday School pupils, who was inspired to share shoes she had outgrown with those who did not have any. "She'll be reaching out to her school, her soccer team, and everyone at her Taekwondo school," said the Rev. Kate Spelman, "with the goal of reaching 120 pairs. I hope that all our neighbors will help us help her reach her goal! This is not only an opportunity to help the less fortunate around the world by supporting a great non-profit, but a chance to support the dreams and leadership of a local kid too!"
Drop-off 24/7 by putting shoes into the brown bin in front of the red doors at 4370 Woodland Avenue. Again, any flat shoe, even single shoes without a mate, can be donated.
