LT brings STEMM to students

Second annual STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine) Career Day Thursday, May 24, at North Campus

More than one dozen math, science, medical and engineering professionals are scheduled to participate in the second annual STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine) Career Day Thursday, May 24, at North Campus. The mission is to inform and encourage students to pursue opportunities, both educationally and professionally, within various science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medical disciplines.

Throughout this full-day experience, students may opt to attend presentations by professionals within a STEMM field. They will hear speakers and explore science concepts related to potential future fields of study. Each speaker will share their work, provide advice about educational paths to STEMM career opportunities, and address questions.

Each period of the day will host multiple speakers and will be located either in Room 140, Room 20 or Library Room A. Interested students are encouraged to sign up in advance. Each student will be limited to two advance tickets. Students may also choose to drop in to attend a period; however, spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis and space will be limited.
