Two Lyons Township High School Advanced Placement Biology students Clayton Walters, of LaGrange, and Jim Berry, of Western Springs, are organizing a 3-day blood drive in mid-February at Adventist Blood Center, 121 N. Elm St., Hinsdale, for all LT students and their families and friends. The seniors learned and discussed the importance of human blood, the need for healthy donors and how it’s possible to save three lives by simply donating.
LT’s annual blood drives were cancelled this year due to building construction; so, the AP biology students have been finding donation opportunities throughout the school year. While donating at Adventist Blood Center, the students and nursing staff decided to create an opportunity for all LT students.
The local blood banks are in short supply right now and the need is critical. Please consider donating and encourage others to donate. Register using their Sign Up Genius page.
