LT to host Voter Registration Drive for students

Any LT student, who will be 18 years of age on or before the November 6th election, can register on February 15.

In conjunction with the LaGrange Area League of Women Voters, Lyons Township High School is holding a day-long Voter Registration Drive at North Campus on Thursday, February 15, 2018. Any student who will be 18 years of age on or before the November 6th General Election, can register. Potentially, more than 700 new voters will be added to the Illinois voter roll.

The March 20th election is a Gubernatorial Primary, when the governor and candidates for many Cook County offices will be on the ballot. Students who are 17 years old can vote in the March 20th primary as long as they turn 18 by the General Election on November 6th. This is a great way for students to engage in the political process. Over the past several years, the League’s annual registration drive at the high school has seen record-breaking numbers of registration.

Student registrars and the League will be available in the North Campus library from 7am-4pm, the cafeteria during lunch periods, and in the study hall throughout the day. Any student who will be 18 by November 6th is eligible to register, and those students may vote in the primary and general elections.
