LT Interact Club helps those in need

Students donated fleece blankets and volunteered at the LaGrange Bible Church Food Pantry.

The Lyons Township High School Interact Club recently volunteered at the LaGrange Bible Church Food Pantry helping unload donations, setting up the food stations, and assisting guests in selecting their items. The Interact Club also made and donated one dozen fleece blankets to the pantry.

The food pantry, which serves an average of 76 guests on a weekly basis, is open to those in need and provides both food and clothing. Support is provided solely through donations from local individuals and organizations.

The LaGrange Bible Church Food Pantry is located at 850 S. 7th Ave., LaGrange and is open every Saturday. According to Interact co-sponsor Robyne Recht, “The students enjoyed volunteering their time at the food pantry. Their visit inspired them to plan a food drive to help the pantry fill their shelves, and several students plan to return and volunteer on their own.”
