LT is one of just five high schools from across the nation to be nominated and named a finalist in the category for their coverage of the Blackout Game 2018.
The piece was first named a winner in the Midwest Media Educators High School Video Festival then advanced to national competition.

LTTV Advisor Bill Allan said, “The Blackout Game coverage stood out for several reasons. The excitement of the game, several big plays and a combination of the live replay, outstanding production, great camera shots, graphics and announcing all contributed to some outstanding coverage.”
Nominees were selected from high school student entries across the country in 23 programming and craft categories. The awards presentation will be live-streamed from the Los Angeles campus of Emerson College on October 18 at noon, PDT and will be hosted by Tom Bergeron, host of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”
This year’s submissions were successfully culled from a record breaking total of more than 2,000 entries from the regional chapters of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Entries were judged by selected industry professionals and media academics.
