LT sending two to State Speech finals

Two Lyons Township High School students will advance to the Speech State Finals at the Peoria Civic Center this weekend

After a long four year drought, two Lyons Township High School students will advance to the Speech State Finals. Senior Miles Hession, of Brookfield, will compete in Extemporaneous Speaking and junior Pilar Valdes, of Countryside, will compete in Special Occasion Speaking. They will be competing at the Peoria Civic Center this weekend.

With one of the most difficult Sectionals in the entire state, LT was fortunate to bring 10 students to Sectionals, with four making it to the finals.

The last time LT had students qualify for Speech State Finals was in 2014.
