LT Speech Team helps budding presenters

Twenty-two Lyons Township High School Speech Team members and coaches Kirsten Manthei and Chris Bass went to Congress Park Elementary in Brookfield recently to visit three second grade classes. The team was invited to help their budding counterparts with a large project they are working on, involving their very first presentation.

LT students helped the elementary students finish their projects, write their speeches, and work on the delivery of their speeches. Three LT students also presented short sample speeches to demonstrate effective public speaking techniques.

Manthei said, “We had an amazing time and the LT students were incredible coaches. The Congress Park teachers have already invited us back!”
