LT Theatre Board to host the musical "13"

October 23-25 in the South Campus Performing Arts Center

The Lyons Township High School Theatre Board proudly presents the musical “13,” this year’s freshmen / sophomore show. Music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown; book by Dan Elish and Robert Horn; produced by special arrangement with MTI. Faculty member Eugene O’Reilly is the director; David Hartley is the musical director; faculty member Terry Wethington is the choreographer, and faculty member John Musick is the pit conductor. The accompanist is Emma Gingold. student Katie Westrick is the assistant director and Grace Canepari is the student assistant.

Geek, Poser, Jock, Beauty Queen, Wannabe. These are the labels that can last a lifetime. “13” is a hilarious, coming-of-age musical about discovering that “cool” is sometimes where we least expect it. Evan Goldman is plucked from his fast paced, preteen New York City life and plopped into a sleepy Indiana town following his parents’ divorce. Surrounded by an array of simpleminded middle school students, he needs to establish his place in the popularity pecking order. Can he situate himself on a comfortable link of the food chain or will he dangle at the end with the outcasts?

Performance dates are Friday, October 23, and Saturday, October 24, at 7:00pm, and Sunday, October 25, at 3pm in the South Campus Performing Arts Center, 4900 S. Willow Springs Rd., Western Springs. Tickets are $10, $5 for children and senior citizens and free with an LTHS student ID. Tickets may be purchased in the box office starting one hour before the show. The theater opens 30 minutes before curtain and the show starts promptly.
