LT Theatre Board to present The Odyssey

The Lyons Township High School Theatre Board proudly presents “The Odyssey” by Homer, adapted and originally directed by Mary Zimmerman, adapted from the translation of “The Odyssey” by Robert Fitzgerald. Faculty member Ann Dudek is the director, junior Lauren Karkazis, of LaGrange Park, is the assistant director and junior Ellie Burke, of LaGrange, is the stage manager.

The ancient Greek warrior Odysseus finds himself longing for home after the Trojan War. Assisted by Athena to make his way back to Ithaca, resourceful Odysseus is nonetheless thwarted in many adventures on this 10-year journey home. This adaptation was originally produced by The Goodman Theatre, Chicago, Illinois on September 17, 1999.”

Performance dates are Friday and Saturday, March 16 and March 17, at 7pm and Sunday, March 18 at 3pm in the North Campus Reber Center, 100 S. Brainard Ave., LaGrange. Tickets are $10 each, $5 for children and senior citizens and free with an LTHS student ID. Tickets may be purchased in the box office before the show. The theater opens 30 minutes before curtain and the show starts promptly.
