LT Theatre Board to present Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream

The Lyons Township High School Theatre Board proudly presents “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by William Shakespeare. Faculty member Mike Kuehl is the director, and juniors Amy Fatora, of Countryside, and George Zurowski, of Western Springs, are the assistant directors.

William Shakespeare’s most popular comedy, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” portrays the adventures of four young lovers and a group of amateur actors, their mishaps with mystical woodland fairies, and the glamorous wedding of a duke and duchess. That this work is widely performed around the globe is no wonder - it’s about the world’s most popular pastime, falling in love. But as the mischievous fairy Puck knows, falling in love can make fools of us all. We’ve done away with ancient Athens and set our version at Camp Athens, a Midwestern summer camp, circa 1968.

Performance dates are Friday, December 11, and Saturday, December 12, at 7pm and Sunday, December 13, at 3pm in the North Campus Reber Center, 100 S. Brainard Ave., LaGrange. Tickets are $10, $5 for children and senior citizens, and free to LTHS students with ID. Tickets may be purchased in the box office before the show. The theater opens 30 minutes before curtain and the show starts promptly.
