More than 120 female soccer players from Lyons Township High School will unite on the West Field playing fields at the corner or Gilbert and Cossitt Avenues in LaGrange on Saturday, May 9.
The 6th annual Pink Out event begins at 10am with the Freshman teams hosting Glenbard East and Proviso West, while the Junior Varsity team hosts Hinsdale Central. The Sophomore and Varsity games versus Glenbard East will follow at noon. Concessions and t-shirts will be available for purchase, and monetary donations will be collected at the gate.
The athletes are spread across both LTHS campuses but work together in their efforts to raise funds that support two Chicago-area programs; the Karen Dove Cabral Foundation (www.karendovecabralfoundation.org) and the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (www.ric.org). “This event has become one of the biggest highlights of the LT Girls Soccer Program and something we are all really proud of,” says LT Varsity Coach Bill Lanspeary. “It’s a big deal for the players in the program to be a part of this special event and these great causes.”
The Pink Out games will be followed by the AYSO VIP program from 2-3pm. Players from the LT Girls Soccer Program will work with children of special needs as “big buddies” in this outstanding soccer program. According to Coach Lanspeary, “This is such a great way to give back to the community. Our high school players and the VIP players all get so much out of it and it reminds us of why we started playing soccer in the first place.”
