Spanish teacher JoEllen Gregie was recently recognized by The College Board for her contributions as an Advanced Placement Reader

Lyons Township High School Spanish teacher JoEllen Gregie was recently recognized by The College Board for her contributions as an Advanced Placement Reader at this year’s annual Spanish Language and Culture AP Reading. All exams contain multiple-choice and free-response questions, either essay or problem solving, that provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate their mastery of rigorous, college-level coursework. Gregie has taught at LTHS for 17 years.
In June, just over 700 college faculty and AP teachers gathered in Cincinnati, OH, to evaluate and score 153,018 free-response answers. This careful evaluation of students’ work is one of the most important aspects of the AP Program. The AP evaluation and scoring process reflects the high standards of faculty members who, by virtue of their experience and expertise, have appropriate student performance expectations within their respective disciplines.
