Man Arrested In Western Springs Porch Piracy

Officers found the man with the stolen item shortly afterward, police said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs police released their regular blotter. Here is information from the reports:

Theft

  • A 51-year-old Broadview man was arrested about 10:30 a.m. Oct. 12 on a theft charge. Police were called to the 4400 block of Gilbert Avenue about an Amazon package stolen from a front porch. Officers found the man shortly after. They said he had the stolen item. It was valued at $34.
  • A resident in the 4300 block of Woodland Avenue told police Oct. 16 that multiple credit cards and $160 were stolen from his wallet inside his house while workers were present.

  • A student was cited Oct. 7 at Lyons Township High School's South Campus, 4900 Willow Springs Road, on a charge of possession of marijuana.
