While heading home, she received alerts about a $106 charge at the Walgreens in Lyons and another charge at Rainstorm Car Wash in Brookfield, police said. She then discovered her wallet, containing multiple credit cards, had been stolen.
Surveillance footage at both businesses led officers to Carmona, according to the report.
Officers waited outside Carmona's house until he left with an unidentified woman. He was stopped at a nearby business.
During an interview, Carmona told police that he saw a credit card lying on the seat of a car while leaving Starbucks, so he went inside and stole it, according to the report.
He admitted to buying a gift card at Walgreens and stated that he may have gone to the car wash, but couldn't recall doing so, police said.
