Nicor, Western Springs Fire Dept. Host Education Event

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Nicor Gas is partnering with the Western Springs Fire Department to promote natural gas safety. According to a release, the annual public education program, now in its 13th year, will run through the end of October and coincides with National Fire Prevention Week.

In Western Springs, the program will be held on Monday, Oct. 8 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the fire department, 4353 Wolf Road.

At the event, Nicor Gas volunteers will share important tips and tools to ensure families know what to do in a natural gas emergency. The company said participants can also learn more about the Nicor Gas energySMART program, as well as other energy assistance programs.

Nicor is partnering with 53 fire department from across the area for this education program.
