Police Activity In Western Springs: 'Nothing To See Here,' Cops Say
The village explains why residents saw a bunch of cops Wednesday and says it'll keep the public better informed in the future.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – If you saw a bunch of cops Wednesday in Western Springs, the village has a message: As the old saying goes, "There's nothing to see here."
During the morning and afternoon, outside police agencies conducted training for their canine groups at Spring Rock and Sereda parks.
But the village said in a statement Thursday that the agencies did not alert Village Hall or the local police department.

The village said it wanted to clarify that no active police or safety situation existed and that the outside agencies were conducting routine training without the village's prior knowledge.
"The Village has taken measures to avoid a similar occurrence in the future so that residents can be notified in advance if training will take place," it said in the statement. "We apologize for any concern or confusion this situation may have caused."
