NV Interior Design Opens in Consign & Redesign
Interior design services were offered in Consign and Redesign before, but the owners wanted to re-brand and create a separate space.

Two years after openingΒ Consign & RedesignΒ in La Grange, the owners have re-branded and created a separate space for their true passion inside: interior design.
Owners Negeen Masghati and Vicky Karkouch launchedΒ NV Interior Design Solutions in June, housing it in a small office in the back of Consign & Redesign, 35 S. La Grange Rd. The two have been offering design services since the consignment store opened but wanted to make it known that it's a separate business.Β
"We really wanted to call it out as a separate service,"Β Masghati said.Β "Itβs really why we got into the business in the first place. Before, some people might think, βOh, thatβs the thrift store,' and not want us designing for them.Β I donβt consider the stuff we carry here to be junk. Thereβs no shame in using resale furniture. Β
And just as consignment furniture and antiques can be useful in design, the design experience of Masghati andΒ Karkouch proves useful in Consign & Redesign.Β
"We stage several vignettes throughout the store, unlike some consignment places that have all the furniture stacked in ugly piles, so people can see how it would look together in their house," Masghati said. "The design background helps us give them an answer without actually seeing their home."
NV Design offersΒ a range of servicesΒ that includes paint consultations, remodels, custom upholstery and window treatments, space planning and more.Β
It's a nice addition to Consign & Redesign, allowing customers to contact the designers and also perhaps stop in the store to find a piece that would work well in their home. Masghati said most of the consigned items are flipped (profits are split 50/50) and that there's always something interesting to be found in the La Grange store.Β
"The cool thing about La Grange and this area is that thereβs a lot of older homes, so we get a lot of antiques," she said, noting an 1800s wooden bust from a French ship that came in one time. "We have a nice, eclectic mix. We try to be selective here and try to bring in as much high-end stuff as we can to give people nice options."
