Pets Die In Western Springs House Fire: Agency
The fire occurred a couple of hours after one in La Grange Park.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – A family's dog and rabbit perished in a fire that damaged a house Wednesday night in the 200 block of Rugeley Road, the Western Springs Fire Department said. No people were in the house.
About 8:30 p.m., firefighters were called to the fire, with heavy smoke coming from the attached garage and the second story, according to a fire department news release.
The fire, which spread to a mudroom next to the garage, was quickly put out, the release said. The fire department said it is investigating the cause.

Structure fires are rare. But one occurred in neighboring La Grange Park during a storm a couple of hours earlier. It was believed to have been caused by downed power lines.
