Photos: Chicago Blackhawks' Forward Patrick Sharp Visits St. Louise De Marillac School

Patrick Sharp, forward for the Chicago Blackhawks, visited St. Louise De Marillac School on Oct. 16, after the school won Goodwill’s Pass It On Donation Challenge.

St. Louise De Marillac School donated more than 78,000 items to Goodwill, and students were rewarded with Sharp’s visit, according to a Goodwill media alert. The La Grange Park school was one of 2,152 schools that participated in the challenge, which ended April 30. This is the fourth year Goodwill has sponsored the donation competition.

Sharp’s visit was delayed after the Blackhawks were in the playoffs, according to Goodwill, but the Oct. 16 visit included an all-school assembly and classroom visits.

“Goodwill Industries of Metropolitan Chicago sees this donation challenge as a way for the organization to publicize it’s commitment to the environment through reusing, reducing and recycling, and do so with a promotion that is fun and exciting with well-respected sports figure Patrick Sharp, of the Chicago Blackhawks,” said a Goodwill statement.
