Pillars Event to Help Fund Mental Health and Social Services
Party for Pillars brings awareness and much-needed funding for community programs.

Submitted by Pillars.
Chicagoland communities are struggling every day with issues like domestic violence, teen drug abuse, and mental illness. Pillars, a leading area mental health and social service agency, is working to do something about it. Last year Pillars provided support to 12,000 people across Chicago, suburban Cook County, and eastern DuPage County. But as a nonprofit, the agency relies on grants and fundraising to meet the needs of area residents.
Party for Pillars is Pillars’ annual summer fundraising initiative and features a signature event in June: Pillars Hawaiian Holiday, a Luau for a Cause. The luau offers a way for individuals to provide that much-needed financial support, while also enjoying a casual evening out and a chance to learn more about the organization.

“With few increases in rates from our major funders, especially the state of Illinois in the past several years, funds raised at this event help to close the gap between the cost of providing services and base funding levels,” says Pillars President and CEO Ann Schreiner. “Party for Pillars is a significant fundraising event for us. Amid the Hawaiian décor and island-themed drinks, the star of the event is really the support for the vital services Pillars offers to our community.”
Pillars Hawaiian Holiday is expected to bring in around 200 attendees, including supporters from across Chicagoland. Guests can expect an evening of Polynesian flair, delicious food, dancing, and a signature island cocktail. There will also be a drawing held that night. Supporters have an opportunity to purchase an Aloha Golden Ticket for a chance to win a stay in Maui. Golden Tickets are $100 and there are only 100 chances to win.
