Presbyterian Church of Western Springs Dedicates New Organ

On Sunday, September 9th at 3:00 pm, the Presbyterian Church of Western Springs will dedicate their new organ. The Organ Dedication Concert is in celebration of their newly purchased, 3 manual, 58 stop, Allen Organ. Guest organist, Dr. A. Steven Taranto will feature pieces that demonstrate the various ways in which the organ can be used in worship. There will be a solo piece written by J.S. Bach as well as an original arrangement of the hymn, Amazing Grace. As an accompanying instrument, the organ will accompany three trumpets on Bugler's Holiday. An arrangement of the hymn tune, Thatxtedfor solo trumpet and organ will also be featured. Lastly, the concert will feature the organ with a few organ duets, a piano/organ duet and the Chancel Choir will be featured on an arrangement of A Mighty Fortress is Our God that will also include a piano/organ duet and handbells.

A reception will be held following the concert.

Our guest Organist, Dr. A. Steven Taranto will also be joining us in Worship at 9:30 am on September 9th, which is also Rally Day Sunday!
