Rare Domestic Battery Arrest In Western Springs
Both Western Springs and La Grange have reported few domestic violence arrests in recent years.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs police last week made their first domestic violence arrest in nearly 15 months, according to the village's weekly reports.
After midnight Aug. 13, a 49-year-old man from the 4000 block of Gilbert Avenue was charged with domestic battery, according to the Western Springs police blotter. The incident took place at the man's house, where he was accused of hitting a woman, police said.
In nearly four years, Western Springs police have made seven domestic battery arrests, including last week's. Three were in 2020, one in 2021 and two in 2022, police reports show.

In the same nearly four-year period, La Grange has reported five domestic battery arrests – one in 2020 and two each in 2021 and 2022.
