Restaurant Vacancy In Western Springs
"Unforeseen circumstances" caused a local eatery's closure. It has other locations.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – With the closing of Salerno's Pizzeria in early January, Western Springs has a restaurant vacancy downtown.
Salerno's was at 821 Burlington Ave. for nearly a decade. It replaced Mécénat Bistro & Wine Shop.
The restaurant announced the closure on its website.

"It is with a heavy heart that we share that, due to unforeseen circumstances, Salerno's Pizza in Western Springs will be permanently closing," the restaurant said. "This was not an easy decision, and we are truly grateful for the support, friendships, and community you have given us throughout the years."
The statement noted its nearby location in Hodgkins.

The chain also has restaurants in Aurora, McHenry and Mount Prospect. It plans to open a location in Lisle.
The Salerno's space is on the market for lease, according to the LoopNet commercial website.
Salerno's canceled its Western Springs liquor license effective last Thursday.
