Riverside Fire Department Hosts Open House Sept. 21
Riverside Road will be closed to through traffic during the event.
The Riverside Fire Department will host an Open House on Sunday, Sept. 21 from noon to 4 p.m.
Fire Station One, on 27 Riverside Road, will showcase antique fire trucks and special emergency vehicles and equipment. Professionals from the neighboring Pleasantview Fire Protection District and and Lyons Fire Department will also participate.
“There will be a home sprinkler demonstration, courtesy of the Northern Illinois Fire Sprinkler Advisory Board, two vehicle extrication demonstrations, fire extinguisher demonstrations and opportunities for photos with Sparky,” according to a news release.
Riverside firefighters will be provide hot dogs and beverages.
Riverside Road will be closed to traffic from the Police Station East to Lawton Road from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Detour signs will be posted.
