A spirited and beautiful program of the Western Springs and Hinsdale Music Clubs was held at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hinsdale on November 9th. The program included:
Pianist Beatriz Helguera-Snow performing Robert Schumann’s “2 Pieces Op. 26 (from Faschingsschwank); and, Maurice Ravel’s “Sonatine;”
Celeste Martino, Soprano accompanied by Victor Moreno (piano) and Steven Sigurdson (cello) performed “What Passion Cannot Music Raise and Quell” #4 aria Ode for St. Cecilia’s Day and “Let the Bright Seraphim” Samson by George Frederick Handel;

“Variazioni di Bravura” Themes from Mose´by G. Rossini – Paganini (arr. by Tortelier); and also, Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story’s “Maria” were performed by pianist Victor Moreno and cellist Steven Sigurdson;
Soprano Celeste Martino accompanied by cellist Steven Sigurdson sang G. Puccini’s “O Mio Babbino Caro” Gianni Schicchi and Lerner & Loewe’s My Fair Lady “I Could Have Danced All Night;” and

Heike Burghart Rice (organist) performed Johannes Brahms’ “Es ist ein Ros’ entsprungen” Op. 122, No. 8; William Bolcom’s “Sweet Hour of Prayer,” and Charles Ore’s “A Mighty Fortress.”
Members from both music clubs socialized after the program with a lovely tea and cookie reception.
