Sheriff's Office to Conduct Specialized Enforcement Patrols
A roadside safety check will take place the night of Nov. 21 in Central Stickney.

Cook County Sheriff’s Police will focus enhanced patrols on seatbelts beginning Nov. 21 in ”significant countywide enforcement efforts,” according to a news release.
The patrols will run from Nov. 21 to Nov. 26 and Nov. 28 to Nov. 30.
A roadside safety check will take place the night of Nov. 21 in Central Stickney, according to the release. Officers will be checking driver’s licenses, registration and they’ll be on the lookout for anyone who appears to be driving intoxicated.

“The checkpoint’s aim is to emphasize roadway safety, increase seatbelt usage by motorists, promote the importance of safe travel, and help reduce the number of vehicle crashes in Cook County,” the release stated.
A grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation funds enhanced patrols and safety checkpoints.
