Shoplifting, Fraudulent Charge: Western Springs Cops

A man stole a shopping cart full of items from a grocery store, police said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Western Springs released its latest blotter Monday. Here is information from the reports:

  • A man stole a shopping cart full of items about 11 a.m. Nov. 22 at Mariano's, 4700 Gilbert Ave. The items cost $500.
  • A resident in the 5400 block of Grand Avenue informed police Nov. 23 that a fraudulent charge of almost $2,000 was made on her Chase Bank credit card.
  • A resident in the 5500 block of Heritage Court informed police Nov. 22 that a fraudulent Verizon Wireless account was opened in her name.
  • The contents of a mailbox were reported stolen Nov. 22 in the 1100 block of White Pine Lane. It was while the resident was out of town.
