Shots Fired On Western Springs' Ogden Avenue
One driver got out of his car to fire at another car, police say.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Shots were fired late Wednesday afternoon in the eastbound lanes of Ogden Avenue at Hampton Avenue.
About 4:30 p.m., a witness said the drivers of a black four-door sedan and a silver Infiniti sedan exited Interstate 294, according to police. Both were speeding east on Ogden, police said.
The witness said the driver of the black sedan stopped in the lane just east of Hampton and got out of his car. The driver then fired several rounds at the Infiniti, which had pulled onto the lawn of a house on Ogden, police said.

The driver of the Infiniti then traveled east on Ogden and was last seen going south on Lawn Avenue, according to police. The driver of the black sedan did a U-turn and proceeded west on Ogden toward I-294.
The witness described the suspect as a black male, 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall, and about 20 to 25. He was wearing a beige jacket and jeans and had short dreadlocks, about 1 to 2 inches in length, police were told.

Western Springs police said there was no apparent threat to the public, but they are heightening their patrol presence. They also said they have not determined if there were any injuries or property damage.
