SJC's 'One Book, One School' features alumna, Broadway Actress Tania Richard

The families of Saint John of the Cross Parish School will get a copy of C.S. Lewis’ “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” to read through October.

It’s part of the school’s “One School One Book” program, an all-school book club, according to a news release. Broadway actress and SJC graduate Tania Richard will help kick off the event by reading the first chapter out loud Oct. 6 at a school assembly.

Sue Michalowski, a librarian, brought this program to SJC.

“Reading aloud at home is valuable because it better prepares children to be effective readers,” Michalowski said in the release. “With this program, we aim to build a culture of reading throughout our school.”

Students, parents and teachers will all participate in reading “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” and students will answer daily trivia questions, and class activities may involve the story.
